The view from the Boleyn Road bridge of Western Junction at Dalston on 19 May 1982. A Cravens twin is ambling past the 1891-built North London Railway box, working between North Woolwich and Camden Road. Behind the camera, Dalston Kingsland station was under construction, opening a year later, whilst beyond the train, the lines to Broad Street head off towards the south. These were closed in 1986, only to be put back in 2010 to form the East London Line Extension. The box survives.
