A Cravens two-car DMU (note the headlamps) rasps out of Southminster station, past the 1889-built signal box and on towards Wickford in April 1983. The goods shed still seems to be in some sort of use and note the gantry beyond, used to unload flasks that arrived by road from Bradwell nuclear power station. The line was electrified in 1986 whilst the power station was in use from 1962 until decommissioning from 2002.
