Three first-generation diesel multiple units (116s and a 101) stand in the platforms at Birmingham Moor Street on July 23, 1981 , at the time a terminus. The destination blind on the right-hand unit reads "LEICESTER" which is a bit of a conundrum. A fine Rail Alphabet running-in board and two platform signs grace the platform.
