A Stratford allocated 2-Car Cravens DMU set is seen waiting departure from the now closed terminus station of North Woolwich with service 2M21 the 10.40 to Camden Road on 30/07/84. This former Great Eastern Railway terminus had become a forgotten backwater during the early 1980's and it wasn't until the advent of Network Southeast the situation improved with the line being electrified as an extension to the North London line third rail network. Its closure on 10/12/2006 was brought about by the close proximity of the Docklands Light Railway in the same area and the fact the route from Royal Victoria Dock to North Woolwich is being used by the new Cross Rail line which would pass under the Thames at North Woolwich.
