Hybrid class 101/116 DMU set T041 (53268+53090) is seen waiting time at Ironbridge Gorge with the 17.45 to Birmingham New Street. The temporary station was located at the 161 mile 20 chain mark just south of Coalbrookdale Viaduct on the Madeley Junction to Ironbridge Power Station freight line. It came into use on 30/6/1987 and closed on 3/9/1990. It made one appearance in the BR all line timetable in the summer 1990 edition (table 74). There were two return journeys on Sundays only between 29th July and 2nd September 1990. Prior to that it was an unadvertised service sponsored by the local authority and Ironbridge Gorge Trust. The method of working seeing as the branch was still twin track back then was for passenger trains to run to Ironbridge Power Station Reception Lines first to reverse then gain the up line where the platform was located.
