BRCW Class 104 DMU's were Sunday resting stabled at Buxton station on August 26th 1979. The nearest three-car set was formed of cars M50482, M59138 & M50460. Buxton Depot had a sizeable allocation of 104's from the late 1950's until the early 1980's. The leading car in this view, Driving Motor Second Lavatory (DMSL) M50482, eventually ended its working life at Preston on January 19th 1986, when working as a two-car set formed of M53482 & M53433, it had a head-on collision with Class 47 47111 just South of Preston station following braking problems. 53482 lanquished for some time in Dock Street Sidings at Preston covered over with a tarpaulin until it was scrapped on-site.
