A colour image of a 'modern diesel train' leaving Lincoln station as seen in a 1957 article on railways in the county taken from the British Transport Commission magazine 'Transport Age. Older loco hauled stock lurks in the background, one carriage in the 'blood and custard' livery used at the time. Amidst the semaphore signalling a new style fluorescent platform light can be seen with "Lincoln Central' in relief letters on the diffuser. The train is heading off to Grantham. Scan and notes courtesy of Mike Ashworth. Note the diagonal line on the blue square coupling code.
