Two days before Christmas in 1999 and the depot yard at Haymarket is full of second generation units of classes 150, 156 and 158, with new Turbostars in their National Express ScotRail livery in the background. Sitting forlornly in the centre sidings are the last of Haymarket's first generation DMU's, three class 117's, with two of them reduced to two car units and all now withdrawn.
