A loose 103 DTC and a 108 on Chester depot on 11 July 1971. Chester on certain Sundays in 1971 was a much more interesting place than usual as when the WCML between Acton Grange and Crewe was closed through trains from the North and Liverpool to Euston and Liverpool Cross Country services were diverted via Chester. This involved arriving through the station and running past the depot onto the Hooton line, then reversing round the curve onto the North Wales line, before setting off forward again round the curve to the station. Class 50 D426 is on the first leg on this operation on the 1P31 Euston to Carlisle service.
