The 11.38 Marylebone – Banbury arrives at High Wycombe while on the left, class 121 bubble car M55033, having arrived from Thame with one of the day’s Thame Phoenix shuttles, waits to cross to the down side to form the 12.50 departure to Thame. 55033 had its original cab replaced at one end by an example from a class 116 following accident damage, which is why in this view, it resembles a class 122. However the giveaway is the exhaust pipes which were retained: they flare at the top where the headcode box would have been.
