The mid-section of experimental Paxman diesel-electric vehicle 9828, taken at Derby on 14 October 1956. The two vehicles had two differences in this area that helps tell which is which - in the lower centre of the engine is what looks like a filter, 9828 did not have lifting brackets on this, 9821 did, and 9828 had two patches on the lower body seen on the right.
