A class 115 set approaches Gerrards Cross in 1986. Taken from Packhorse Road, everything from here to the Marsham Lane bridge in the distance was buried to create land for a Tesco store with the line contained in a tunnel under the site. Things didn’t go to plan however with the tunnel collapsing during construction in 2005 and a revised design eventually used which delayed the whole project by about 5 years. At the time this photo was taken the centre roads were still in place here but had not been used for a while, they were removed in 1989.
