Five years after the closure of the Woodhead route, Class 108/101 hybrid DMU on a Huddersfield-Sheffield service leaves Penistone station and trundles across what remains of Huddersfield Junction. Track recovery and gantry demolition began in earnest on this section the following year, 1987.
