Last Rites. A wreath signifying the end of the Kilmacolm line is about to be hung on the lamp iron of Metro Cammell 101 327 at the head of the 19:01 Kilmacolm - Glasgow Central service. The driver will wind the destination screen round one last time. This was the very last service to leave the Renfrewshire town with 107 435 on the rear of a six car set. The official closure date was Monday 10 January 1983 - there was no Sunday service and the Monday would be the first day without rail services. Notice the policeman keeping an eye on proceedings!
