Image 3 (negative 8010.3850-3) of a set of 12 taken by the BRB Central Photograph Unit at Doncaster Works showing Leyland 680 150hp engines. The first nine feature a silver painted engine, this image shows it sitting on a Leyland wooden engine pallet from the sump side. Date unknown - possibly 1980? On this silver engine the starter motor is held in place by a bracket at the gear end - a modification from the original design. The fuel pump is not the original version nor the compressor top, this is probably a 680/1595 variant.
