M52040 in the process of being broken up at Ladywell, Preston, on 25 March 1984. The vehicle had suffered fire damage at Preston in the early hours on 7 March 1984 while en-route empty from Blackburn. The contractor that cut the remains is believed to be Banks Street Metals of Glossop.
