I rarely sacrificed a precious frame of my limited film stock on a mere DMU when there was a chance that a Deltic might appear at any moment, but on this occasion at Doncaster I am glad I did. Unrefurbished, but sporting the short-lived 'domino' style of headcode panel, a two-car Derby-built unit pulls away from the station in the direction of Lincoln with a Skegness service.
