On 12th July 1980 the “Forth Valley Wanderer” railtour visited the Granton branch in Edinburgh. This view shows the train approaching the tunnel under East Trinity Road, with Trinity Junction immediately afterwards. The original line to Scotland St, and thence by cable haulage through the tunnel to the current Waverley station, continues straight ahead. The line was taken up in the mid 1980s and now forms a footpath.
