Met-Camm set 229 waits by the signal box at Markinch to reverse across to the down line, the 2G12 09.10 Dundee to Edinburgh temporarily terminating due to resignalling work at Thornton. Note the taped over set number above the 229, and the defunct wiper on the left side. Crewe depot's 47228 charges through with the Sunday 1N20 08.40 Edinburgh to Inverness Inter-City service. 1st June 1980.
