'Hybrid' Class 100 Gloucester DMBS 53355 and Class 105 Cravens DMCL 53812 having arrived from Blackburn at Manchester Victoria on 17th February 1986. They were at one time earmarked for preservation by the National Railway Museum, but a change of policy at the museum saw them consigned for scrap. They did have a brief spell of fame, achieving celebrity status with enthusiasts, but I guess not the general travelling public, due to their survival long after other Class 100 and 105 units.
