Heading Eastbound, a three-car Class 110 'Calder Valley' DMU was passing through Bamber Bridge station with a Blackpool North to Leeds service on July 25th 1977. At the time, this out-and-back service from Leeds to the Fylde Coast was the only regular daily timetabled passenger service that travelled over the Copy Pit route from Gannow Junction to Hall Royd Junction. Monday to Friday this service was always a three-car Bradford Hammerton Street allocated Class 110, but on Summer Saturdays and Bank Holidays the service was often strengthened to 6, 9 or 12 cars.
