A pair of Swindon built Class 120 'Cross-Country' Driving Motor Brake Composites, M53714 & M53713 in use as a parcels/mail unit, was stabled in Croft Street Sidings at Preston on August 31st 1986. The nearest car, M53714 had once been part of a Derby Etches Park allocated three-car set EP522. New in April 1958, M53714 & M53713 were taken out of passenger use in January 1986 and in February 1986, the two-car set was allocated to Chester for parcels/mail duties. The pair of cars were finally withdrawn in April 1987 and scrapped by Berry's of Leicester.
