A Metro-Cammell Class 101 has just terminated at Haltwhistle with the 15.08 from Newcastle on 08/06/1981. The scene is a delightful pocket of railway history. On the left the little station goods yard is in use and has a coal conveyer by a short siding. On the right all sidings are present as is a North Eastern water column. The station has the original foot bridge and a large signal box that also controlled the junction for the Alston branch. The foreground has a rather large corrugated iron shed.
