Nuneaton Abbey station looks a little bleak on a cloudy 14th September 1959. The station was located on Midland Road and served the housing estates rather than the town centre. Behind the station is the large Judkins Quarry complex this supplied the area with a constant film of dust which covered everything in the immediate vicinity. The opposite platform has a water crane still in use the station closed to passengers 4th March 1968. Approaching the station is an LMR 3 car Cravens unit on a Nottingham - Birmingham working.
