A GRC&W Cross-Country DMU seen in Birmingham Moor Street at 3.03pm on 13 January 1962 after arriving with a local service. Michael might have taken this image if it was the first yellow panel he saw - this was a very early application. Looking at the shine on the cab corner, only the lower half of the cab has been painted, the green having to be applied to cover the whiskers which spread wide than the yellow.
