This is Aldridge Station on 13/05/1963, into which a Park Royal DMU is about to call. Aldridge was the first station east of Walsall on the Sutton Park line to Castle Bromwich, it closed to passengers in January 1965, the line is still open as a freight route and there are persistant rumours that a passenger service may one day return. It will be too late for Aldridge as no trace of it now remains. The rather dramatic shot was taken by Peter Shoesmith.
