This was a picture Peter never printed, possibly because it was just a DMU and around this time, 01/03/1959, steam was everywhere and Snow Hill would never close. The perspective of 2013 is different, Snow Hill has closed and re-opened, the dreaded new DMU has been replaced twice, first by the class 150 and latterly by the class 172 and the two chaps will be late 70's early 80's by now. Why there was such a lovely light effect is unknown, the new diesels should not have produced that amount of smoke, maybe a steam hauled freight had gone through centre road, we will never know and Peter never saw it.
