In sunlight and shade, and with passengers alighting & boarding, along with someone conversing with the guard, Gloucester Class 122 single-unit 55003 (P103) was stood at Starcross with the 17.22 Paignton to Exmouth service on May 31st 1989. 55003 was allocated to Plymouth Laira for use in Devon and Cornwall between September 1987 and August 1993 and has subsequently survived into preservation.
