There are few more pleasant places to spend time than the Hope Valley. In 1981 it was not a place for the loco haulage fan, sparse freight and only 2 loco hauled trains a day. On a sunny 17th March 1981 56039 was leading two Derby class 114s on the 13.32 New Mills to Sheffield train away from Hope.
