The advantage of bidirectional working at Worcester Foregate Street on the 29th September 1989 enabled this photo to be taken! On the right 31448 waits to leave with the 09.43 to Birmingham New Street from Hereford (09.01) and is running about 5 minutes late. Overtaking it is T134 (55034) which is on the 09.48 WFS to Barnt Green via Worcester Shrub Hill, where it will reverse and follow 31448. Loco haulage had ended on the Hereford services but due to a shortage of DMUs and I believe class 150s, class 31s were used for most of September 1989.
