On a glorious Spring morning class 114 a Derby DTC 56047 is at the head of the 07.32 Sheffield to Manchester service at Chinley on 17/04/1981. In those distant days before Freightmaster and Real Time Trains you drove to a location and hoped, hours were spent gazing into the distance, the worst was when, after a drive of 70 miles, you saw the tail lamp of the only freight for hours disappearing into the distance with just the sound of the class 40 dying on the breeze...
