Two-car Class 102 DMU E51435+E56053 is pictured at Platform 1 at Manors on January 8th 1978, heading towards the coast via South Gosforth. Whilst this part of the station was demolished when the Metro system opened, Manors is still a station on the ECML, and Metro trains can still access Manors Metro station from West Jesmond on empty stock workings using part of the original line. The Haymarket to Tynemouth part of the Metro system opened on August 11th 1980.
