Standing in the smoke filled gloom of Birmingham New Street is a BRC&W DMU, clean and shiny although by this time (09/1963) it has been in service for a few years, the driver glares after his receding passengers who could not be bothered to close a door. On the right, on the Midland side of the station, is Stanier Jubilee 45676 Codrington the train is and it will soon be heading west towards Gloucester or Bristol. Image taken by Peter Shoesmith,
