It was getting on in the afternoon of 27 February 1986 when this 3 car class 110 worked through the remains of Manchester Exchange station towards Victoria with a Blackpool to York service. In the background is a 2 car class 108 coupled to a class 101. This area has been extensively redeveloped since then and even if such a shot were still possible I very much doubt that the backdrop would have any of the architectural interest so obvious in 1986.
