This is Windmill End Halt on what was known as "The Bumble Hole** Line" actually part of the Old Hill to Dudley branch, the GRCW single car is working from Dudley towards Old Hill. The almost rusted away corrugated iron buildings were new as part of the 1957 rebuild, the shelter was replaced with a concrete bus shelter in the early 1960's and the line closed shortly afterwards 15/06/1964. The chimneys to the right were those of the Royal Doulton pipe works (recently demolished and now being built on), in the foreground is a hint of canal, this is the Dudley number 2 canal towards Halesowen, it originally continued to Selly Oak in Birmingham. The abutment in the picture is the demolished railway bridge over this canal, within a 100 yards the railway crossed the Netherton arm of the Dudley canal on a second bridge near the mouth of Netherton Tunnel.
