Cycling home along the towpath of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, I paused just outside Wigan to photograph a 2-car Class 104 making its way along the Southport line. In the background are the floodlights of Springfield Park, the home of Wigan Athletic F.C. until 1999. October 1983.
