One of the Swindon built Class 123 Inter-City DMUs is seen departing Doncaster for Manchester Piccadilly, c.1980. They joined Class 124 DMUs on services such as this from the late 1970s, working until mass withdrawal of both classes in May 1984, replaced by Class 31/4s.
