There were five Class 128 parcels units still in traffic when this images was taken on the 3rd August 1983, and 55991 - pictured here at Slough coupled to a class 121 "bubble car" - was one of two allocated to the Western Region. All five remaining examples were scrapped in April 1991 rendering this interesting class extinct.
