The last of the Newton Heath allocated 'White Stripe' with red buffer beam liveried class 104 BRC&W dmu's - DMCL M53524 - makes a smoky departure upon leaving what is now a totally unrecognizable Manchester Victoria with a service for Blackpool North. These units with a White Strip down the body side indicated that they had modified suspension for fast running on express services to Blackpool, which probably meant very little when i took this with the influx of class 150 'Sprinter' new builds. 18th May 1985
