A class 120 dmu departing Inverness for Aberdeen on 08-04-1974. An everyday sight from 1960 to 1980, seven 3 car class 120 sets were based at Inverness for the direct service to Aberdeen. Also seen on the branches of the old Great North of Scotland Railway in Aberdeenshire and Banffshire until Dr. Beeching put a stop to that.
