Back in the "anything goes" days it wasn't a surprise to see this lash-up on an Edinburgh to Kirkcaldy stopping service at Aberdour in August 1987. The two Swindon Cross-Country power cars started their life 20 years earlier at Cardiff as W50658 and W50699, while the Met Camm centre car spent most of its life in the North East as E59571. Murray Liston.
