A Gloucester twin departs from Alloa station on 5 October 1968. The DTCL is in blue, the DMBS is still in green, there is a set number stenciled on the front sadly slightly blurred but it could be 89. Stuart Mackay Collection.

A Gloucester twin (SC51121 closest) outside Alloa Engine Shed on 28 March 1964. Grangemouth is on the destination blind, the crew are in this end so it could be changing roads, the station being behind the camera. The branch to Tillicoultry in the upper left. Stuart Mackay Collection.

On 12th July 1980 the “Forth Valley Wanderer” railtour visited a number of lines in Edinburgh, Grangemouth and Fife. A photo stop at the original Alloa station in the afternoon shows the unusual dmu formation a class 101 Met Camm centre car 59047 sandwiched by two of the few class 105 Cravens units to receive blue / grey livery, 51474 and 51480. Park Royal Railbus M79971, presumably on a Larbert-Alloa service, leaves the Scottish Central at Alloa Junction (between Larbert and Stirling) to take the line towards the swing bridge over the River Forth. Date unknown, but thought to be around the time passenger service ended in January 1968.
