A 3-car class 101 calls at Backworth with the 1736 Newcastle-Newcastle anti-clockwise circular service. This station closed about three weeks later, on 13/06/1977. Graeme Phillips Collection.
A four-car and two-car Met-Camm DMUs, with what seems to be a CCT on the rear. The details came with the negative suggested this was drawing into Backworth station, and with no third rail this would be the route from Seghill, and likey a service from Newbiggin to Newcastle.
