Travelling over the freight only Woodhead route at 1505hrs between Crowden and Torside level crossing on 25th January 1981, on a Sunday diversion away from the Hope Valley route, is a Hull Botanic Gardens (BG) based Swindon built DMU formation led by a class 123 Inter-City with a Hull Paragon - Manchester Piccadilly service. A 2x2 Class 105 Cravens formation heads eastward up towards Woodhead Tunnel, having just passed through the site of Crowden station, on the now freight only Woodhead route with a Sunday diversion away from the Hope Valley route on 25th January 1981. In pretty dismal conditions a 2x2 Class 105 Cravens formation sweeps through the site of Crowden station at 13.15 on 25th January 1981, heading eastward up towards Woodhead Tunnel on the now freight only Woodhead route, with a Sunday diversion away from the Hope Valley route.
