Class 120/101 hybrid set EP521 at the front of a seven-car formation arrives at Heckington working the 11.31 Skegness-Nottingham on 10 September 1983. On the left the 09.36 Kings Cross-Skegness disappearing into the distance - this was hauled on this day by 31296. Lewis Bevan.

In the heart of the Worcestershire countryside and overlooking the River Avon at Eckington is this location near the village of Defford. this picture shows an unidentified Tyseley class 116 heading north with a Gloucester to Birmingham train. The date was 19 July 1985 and was my first visit of many to this pleasant spot. Peter Tandy.

Derby class 114 with 54026 leading is passing the picturesque mill at Heckington, it is a shame the sails were not better positioned but at least, side on, the rather fine fantail is visible. The unit is one of a procession of trains that took holidaymakers to Skegness, this was the 11.39 'all stations' from Grantham. 20/08/1983. Geoff Dowling.
