Revised NSE liveried Met-Cam 2 car Class 101 unit L222 passes the sticks at Ely Dock Jn whilst forming the 1728 King's Lynn - Cambridge service with 54382 leading 51438. 2nd May 1990. Nigel Mack.

Painted in the original light blue Network South East livery, without the more usual black cab window surrounds, CA allocated 2 car Metro-Cam, Class 101 set, L223 formed of 51444 + 54068 passes the semaphores at Ely Dock Jn at the end of its short morning journey from Cambridge. Its still the real railway at Ely as 2 Car Met-Cam DMU set L223 formed of 51444 + 54068 run past Ely Dock Jn with a terminating local service from Cambridge on 12th March 1990. In the sidings the death knell beckons as 31422 awaits departure with the electrification train. Within a few years the box will be closed, the signals felled, and ugly overhead wires will ruin the scene .... But thats progress - so I've been told .. !! Nigel Mack.
