The Fakenham & Dereham Railway Society 'Bucks & Oxon Freighter' railtour on July 14, 1984 is seen at the rural single platform halt of Little Kimble, which even as late as 1984 still sported a large cast iron former GWR running in sign. This station on the Princes Risborough to Aylesbury line was served by 9 trains daily back then 5 up and 4 down at peak times only and a far cry from the frequent service it now enjoys as part of the Chiltern Trains network. The tour was an 8 hour trundle around the freight only backwaters of Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire in a 4-car class 115 DMU. It started and finished at two different London termini having set out from London Marylebone it ended the day at London Broad Street. Adrian Nicholls.
