This was the last time I saw a BRC&W Class 104 on the Buxton line on a service train, as they had long since been displaced on the Buxton line by this time, interesting too the second time I had seen a 2 car example, as all Buxton units were 3 cars. This is Newton Heath allocated N666 led by 53493 heading back to Manchester on the outskirts of Hazel Grove, 24th April 1989. Andrew J Crowther.

A White roofed Buxton based BRC&W class 104 3 car dmu BX481 (M53421 + M59148 + M53487), climbs the 1-60 bank up towards Norbury Hollow level crossing whilst working a Manchester Piccadilly - Buxton service, 22nd December 1985. BX489 (M51569, M59207, M53932) part of the Buxton allocation is a 1960 built Derby Lightweight dmu, with its class 104 TBSL center car, has just passed over Norbury Level crossing heading down the gradiant between Middlewood and Hazel Grove, with the 14.08 Buxton-Manchester Piccadilly service. 10th October 1985.
