A Class 114 DMU formed of E56001 + E50044 arrives into Starbeck with a six-wheeled van on the rear. They are working the 4.00pm Harrogate - York service on 1 October 1975. E56001, and E50001, had slightly different shaped roof domes from the rest of the type, resulting in the side and top faces of the destination boxes being smaller, and the top marker light not protruding so much. E50001 differed from E56001 in that the destination box dropped below the gutter line. Michael Mensing.
