A Class 128 parcels car at Stratford-upon-Avon in 1965. The photographer notes "This area had just been transferred from the WR to the LMR & all the MUs had a green patch where the "W" had been replaced with a "M". In April 1971 Stratford upon Avon had a complete station as seen with this 116 dmu (set TY536, presumably 50107 + 59442 + 50833) waiting to leave on a service to Birmingham Moor Street. Note the disc signals which indicate what position the starter signals at the end of the platform are in. Stephen Burdett.

10th April 1976
Set: P355
Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, on 10th April 1976. The Great Western Railway station at Stratford remained intact into the mid-1970s when the Down platform buildings were demolished. The covered footbridge remained and a Birmingham Moor Street-bound dmu waits alongside it. At this time the line south to Honeybourne and Cheltenham was still open for freight. However shortly afterwards a derailment at Winchcombe gave British Railways an excuse to close the through line completely. The closest vehicle, a DMBS, is marked as set P355 and is presumably 50854, transferred from Laira to Tyseley a few weeks previously. Pete LG99.
